A backsplash is a small area with a lot of cuts: outlets, switches, window returns, the range hood, the ends of the counter. That is why it is priced by the job rather than by the square foot, and why the price often does not drop much for a small kitchen.
Handmade-look tile (zellige, hand-glazed subway) is popular and looks great, but the tiles vary in size and thickness. We lay them out dry first and sort them so the variation looks intentional. Herringbone and chevron backsplashes take longer because every piece at the edges is an angled cut.
We work around your counters and appliances, cover everything, and clean up the same day. Grout goes in the next morning and you can often be back to cooking that night!
