A shower is the hardest tile job in a house, and the one most likely to fail. The tile itself isn't usually the issue, what matters is what is under it: a pan pitched to the drain, a bonded waterproof membrane on every wall, and corners that are sealed, not just grouted. We build every shower on a Schluter or equivalent sheet-membrane system.
Most of our shower work is a tub-to-shower conversion or a full re-tile of a shower that started leaking.
