Fireplace Surrounds
Feature walls and surrounds in large-format porcelain, limestone, marble-look, and stacked tile. Mitered corners so there is no plastic trim.
A fireplace wall is a living space centerpiece, so the layout is critical. We center the pattern on the firebox, plan the cuts so they land in the corners and not in the middle of the wall, and miter the outside corners so the edges read as solid stone.
Large-format porcelain slabs (24×48 and bigger) are the most common request. They go up with a two-person lift and a rail system, and the wall behind them has to be flat and properly backed. Natural stone like limestone or slate needs sealing and a little more time on layout because no two pieces match.
We tile over existing brick, drywall, or cement board. Gas, electric, and wood-burning inserts are all fine as long as the tile and setting materials are rated for the heat, which we confirm in advance.
